I've been reading Palmento: A Sicilian Wine Odyssey, by Robert V. Camuto. A
paragraph on pp. 69, left a lasting impression on me:
"...with their business success, still knew how to measure wealth in
real luxuries like fresh ricotta or eating your own tomatoes, ..."
He was talking about a successful wine-producing family in Sicily, Italy,
regarding their attitude toward quality produce, and nowadays rich folks in the
cities are willing to pay obscene prices but most likely still end up having
lesser quality.
Indeed, at the end of the day, the things in life that cannot be acquired
by money are the real luxuries.
